What Is API (Application Programming Interface)?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of rules that lets two software systems communicate and share data with each other automatically.

APIs are how apps connect — for example, a website using a payment API to take card payments, or a CRM pulling data from your email via an API.

Good integrations rely on APIs to move data automatically between your tools, saving manual work. We build apps and integrations around the APIs you already use.
