What Is Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are Google’s page-experience metrics measuring loading (LCP), interactivity (INP) and visual stability (CLS) — used as a ranking signal.

The three Core Web Vitals are: LCP (largest contentful paint — how fast the main content loads), INP (interaction to next paint — how responsive the page feels), and CLS (cumulative layout shift — how stable the layout is).

Targets: LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1. Passing these improves both rankings and how many visitors stay.
